Says he does not own any piece of illegal land in Hyderabad
TRS president K.Chandrasekhar Rao sought to know from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi if his party gave separate Telangana only with an eye on the merger of the TRS into the Congress or to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Telangana.
He said he said he would have merged his party into the Congress if that party had cooperated in carving out a new State in 2004. When finally the State was created, it was not up to the expectations of people.
“Some Congress leaders are talking meaninglessly. I never said I will merge the party. I did not merge TRS into the Congress only to protect the identity and self-respect of Telangana people,” Mr KCR said, addressing a well-attended public meeting at Bhupalpalli here on Tuesday.
The TRS chief undertook a whirlwind tour in the district, campaigning for the party and its candidates at Bhupalpalli, Thorrur, Maripeda and Mahabubabad.
Referring to the allegations of Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Mr Rao said he did not own any piece of illegal land in Hyderabad and was ready to face any enquiry.
He advised Congress leaders to stop making baseless allegations.
The TRS chief attacked Errabelli Dayakar Rao of TDP and Dugyala Srinivasa Rao of Congress at the meeting.
He urged people not to vote for the betrayers of Telangana movement.
Bhupalpalli to be
Mr KCR made several promises and said his party would deliver all these if voted to power. Bhupalpalli would be made a new district and named after the late Jayashankar, he said. More power projects would be set up in the district.
The Congress which had failed to complete irrigation projects and drove farmers to suicide should be voted out of power, he said.
The party’s candidates, S Madhusudhana Chary, A Sitaram Naik, K Srihari, N Sudhakar Rao and others were present.
