ELURU: West Godavari district continued to remain in a state of mourning on Saturday over the demise of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy. Condolences kept pouring in from different sections. The Municipal Corporation of Eluru held an emergency meeting to pay homage to the departed leader. Deputy Mayor Siripalli Prasad proposed to name the municipal corporation after late YSR. and install his bronze statue on the MCE office premises. Several corporators recalled the contribution of Dr. Reddy to development of the town.

DCC condolence meet

The District Congress Committee met here to condole his death. A section of the party leaders requested DCC president Moshen Raju to adopt a resolution in favour of appointing Mr. Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, YSR’s son as the next Chief Minister. The DCC chief however maintained that the issue would be discussed at a separate meeting since it could not be done at the condolence meeting.

Andhra Pradesh Rytanga Samakhya held a meeting to remember the services of late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy for the welfare of farmers, especially free power and the Indira Sagar Project.

The fair price shop dealers took out a procession as a mark of paying respects to the late Chief Minister.
