The website of the Commissionerate-I of Central Excise and Customs was launched here on Saturday by Member of the Central Board of Excise and Customs Sandya Baliga.

She was here to inaugurate a seminar on `national litigation policy and its implementation in CBEC’ at Customs House. Various issues such as appeal procedures in the High Courts and the Supreme Court and relating to appointment of counsels under National Litigation Policy were discussed.

Chief Commissioner, Vizag Zone P.K. Jain delivered the welcome address. Commissioner of Visakhapatnam-I M. Ponnuswamy, Commissioner of Visakhapatnam-II B.V. Siva Naga Kumari, Commissioner of Customs P.K. Mohanty, Commissioner (Guntur) C.P. Rao and Commissioner (Tirupati) Janaki Arun Kumar spoke.

Mr. Ponnuswamy earlier explained the important features and links of the website (www.cenexgstvizag1.gov.in).  The website provides many features such as citizens’ charter, notifications, circulars and instructions issued by the board as well as the trade notices/facilities issued by the local Commissionerate.

The website contains useful links to all the related sites such as Central Board of Excise & Customs, Supreme Court and High Courts cause lists and Goods and Services Tax (GST) portal. The website is expected to act as one-stop information portal for the taxpayers as well as the tax collectors.

Officers from all the Commissionerates of Central Excise and Customs in the region of Andhra and Rayalaseema attended.
