HYDERABAD: President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was given a warm farewell when he returned to New Delhi late on Thursday evening after a 24-hour visit to the State capital. He was about 50 minutes behind schedule.

Among those who saw him off at 10.20 p.m were Governor Rameshwar Thakur and Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. As his departure was already delayed, he did not come in to the designated enclosure for his send-off.
