Visits remote habitations in Kothaguda mandal
WARANGAL: The Superintendent of Police, V C Sajjanar undertook a different exercise on Saturday midnight.
To instil confidence among the tribals and to boost the morale of the police personnel, Mr Sajjanar set off to the remote habitations in the forest areas of Kothaguda mandal.
Surprising the subordinates, the SP chose to visit the Madiguda very remote and inaccessible habitation and native place of Maoist party Khammam-Karimnagar-Warangal (KKW) secretary, Haribushan alias Yapa Narayana. He interacted with naxal leader’s mother Kommakka and urged her to take part in the election process and motivate others to cast their votes without any fear.
Departing from the usual practice of being accompanied by scores of gunmen, the SP spent the whole night moving around the habitations. In the wee hours, he squatted at the bus stop in Gangaram, a tribal hamlet and interacted with the villagers. He sought their views about the elections and security measures being taken by the police. Around 8 am, Mr Sajjanar visited the tribal welfare girls hostel and spent considerable time with the inmates. The girls apprised him about the problems facing them. Mulug ASP Kranti Rana Tata and other police officers accompanied the SP.
