The financial year 2010-11 has been a very successful year for Waltair Division of East Coast Railway. It had earned a gross revenue of Rs.4,147.17 crore, marking a 15 per cent increase over the previous financial year, Divisional Railway Manager N. Kashinath has said.

Addressing the gathering at the 63rd Republic Day celebrations at the RPF Grounds, Mr. Kashinath called upon the railway officers and personnel to work even harder during the current financial year to achieve the loading target of 52 million tonnes of originating traffic and 31.71 millions of originating passengers.

On the traffic front, though there was reduced demand during the first two months, it showed an increasing trend subsequently.

Dogs trained by the RPF exhibited their skills by jumping through a ring of fire, presenting a ‘lotus formation', showing obedience to their masters and participating in the parade. Schoolchildren presented various cultural programmes.
