Collector Ramsankar Naik asked the officials engaged in the census work to incorporate carefully the information of physically-challenged persons in the column No. 9.
Addressing officials in connection with the release of a wall poster here on Thursday, he said census enumeration was going on in full swing in the district, which would be on till February 28. The enumeration started on Wednesday. The house listing was undertaken in March last year and a number was given to each household. The enumerators will visit each household to gather information for the 29 columns required. A special drive would be on for homeless people and other categories for five days starting on March 1.
Most of the enumerators were drawn from the teachers' pool. Those on census duty were exempted from attending the school in the morning hours.
District Revenue Officer Suryaprakash, Joint Collector Jyothi M. Buddha Prakash and others were present.
