Students from a few streams like M.A. (English) achieve cent per cent success ratio
Students of MCA, M.A. (English), M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry), and M.Sc. (Marine Biology) third semester achieved cent per cent success in their examinations at Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU).
The total success ratio in the university was 91.69 per cent, VSU Vice-Chancellor C.R. Visweswara Rao said.
The V-C, along with Registrar V. Narayana Reddy, Examinations Branch Coordinator Ch. Venkatrayalu, in-charge Ranganathan, and media coordinator K. Narasimha Rao, released the first and third semester results in the administration building here on Tuesday.
1st semester results
In the first semester, M.Sc. (Chemistry) and M.A. (English) students achieved cent percent results, while the M.Sc. (Marine Biology) and MCA students recorded 80 per cent and 77.7 per cent success ratio respectively.
Congratulating the students for achieving good results, Mr. Rao said that this was yet another bright academic year from the point of view of success ratio and the cent per cent results indicated good teaching practices.
The Registrar complimented the students and the teaching staff for achieving good results.
Mr. Narayana Reddy said that three research scholars of VSU, belonging to the SC/ST category, secured Rajiv Gandhi Research Fellowships this year. The University Grants Commission (UGC) will present the fellowships to the researchers to encourage Research and Development (R&D) at the university level, and a scholarship of Rs. 12,000 per month will be given to each student.
Of the seven researchers who applied for the fellowship, two students from Computer Science Department and one from Bio-technology Department got selected.
Mr. Visweswara Rao and other staff complimented the students for selecting Rajiv Gandhi Research Fellowships and said that the fellowships will enable the students to attend national and international-level scientific meets and seminars and develop their knowledge.
