Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah said that the written test conducted for VRO and VRA posts at 111 centres in the district on Sunday passed off peacefully. In a release, the Collector said that 26,305 (80.04 per cent) candidates out of 32,861 applied for VROs and 1,374 (80.07 per cent) candidates out of 1,716 applied for VRA posts wrote the examination. The Collector inspected some of the examination centres and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements.
VRO and VRA exams went off peacefully in Srikakulam district. As many as 23,624 candidates appeared for the exam and 7,917 remained absent.
Around 1,200 candidates wrote VRA exam in the district. Special squads inspected the examination process in the district.
The Collector G.Venkatram Reddy reviewed the arrangements in the morning and instructed the invigilators not to give any scope for any malpractices.
The examination for selecting Village Revenue Officers (VROs) and Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs) held peacefully in the district with 75.5 per cent of the applicants taking the tests.
Of the 60,980 applicants for the VRO post, 46,082 candidates appeared for the examination in 164 centres.
In the afternoon, the test for the VRA was held in 27 centres to which of the 11,051 applicants from the district, 8,345 candidates took the examination.
