KURNOOL: The general hospital here launched ‘Sneha and Raksha’ volunteer schemes to help patients on Monday.
Hospital superintendent M.S.R.K. Prasad said Kallur Pensioners Association and nursing students would act as volunteers under Sneha programme and help patients by guiding them to different departments for investigations, treatment and admission.
About 100 volunteers would be deployed at different departments in the hospital. Dr. Prasad said patients who were not well versed with the system of hospital were inconvenienced in seeking admission and approaching the departments.
Also, another programme to keep the hospital premises clean was launched. Around 60 Raksha volunteers would help patients and attendants would be educated to clean the premises clean by using dustbins.
