VISAKHAPATNAM: Government’s priorities and public interest were the agenda for him while achieving goals, said V.N. Vishnu, who has taken charge as Vice-Chairman of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) here on Wednesday.

Mr. Vishnu took charge from Mr. G. Venkatram Reddy, who has been transferred as Joint Secretary to Woman and Child Welfare Department.

VUDA has a lot of scope for development and its huge resources would be tapped for the benefit of public, the new Vice-Chairman told reporters. The city was now on international map and its development would also be in tune with its status. This could be achieved with the cooperation of all sections, Mr. Vishnu said. He was having a good experience of working in the north Andhra region (he worked as Collector of Srikakulam) and was well acquainted with Visakhapatnam. Mr. Venkatram Reddy said his stint as VUDA Vice-Chancellor had helped him to gain a rich experience in development, planning and administration. Secretary A. Jagadeesh, Chief Urban Planner K. Ananda Babu, Chief Engineer K. Shyam Kumar, Chief Accounts Officer D. Vijaya Bharathi, OSD Y. Ramesh and others were present.
