All India Radio, Vijayawada station, will air Vividh Bharati programme from the city on Frequency Modulated (FM) Channel, (yet to be commissioned, according to the Station Director), adding to the joy of music lovers. The Prasar Bharati has reallocated frequency for the existing Krishnaveni FM Channel changing it from 102.2 MHz to 103.4 MHz.
Very soon the Krishnaveni FM will be audible to people in far off places too when its 10 KW transmitter gets installed at Kondapalli, for which civil works are in progress.
Currently 1 KW transmitter serves the people in and around Vijayawada.
Technically the frequency changeover took place from September 29 and AIR had been broadcasting the Krishnaveni entertainment programme on 103.4 MHz from that day.
Meanwhile, All India Radio Vijayawada Station Director M. Krishna Kumari in a release here on Monday said that the total programme broadcasting timings of the Krishnaveni FM channel had been increased and now it can be listened from 5 a.m. to 00 hrs midnight. “This will give scope for more locally generated programmes that are interactive too with the listeners,” she added.
