Swami Bodhamayananda, director of the Human Excellence Centre of the Ramakrishna Math advised the youth to acquire the qualities like self-confidence, character, personality, selflessness and helpfulness to become the good citizens.
Delivering a keynote address at the youth convention here on Tuesday, he said unfortunately cinema heroes have become ideal for the youth instead of great men like Swami Vivekananda. Freedom fighters including
Mahatma Gandhi fought against the British rule after being inspired by Vivekananda’s messages, he said and asked the youth to follow the footsteps of the great saint.
Later, Swami Archanananda and others spoke at the teachers’ convention.
Meanwhile, the two-day Vivekananda Ratha Yatra in town concluded with a Shobha Yatra that covered the main thoroughfares in the town.
The Ramakrishna Seva Samithi director Sai Prasad, president S.N. Chary, secretary Tota Rajasekhar and Additional Joint Collector Sesadri and other officials also participated in the programme.
