Sri Viswabrahmin Sangham members burnt an effigy of a writer Marri Venkata Narasimha Reddy at Kadapa Collectorate on Thursday alleging that he termed the fortune-teller saint Sri Pothuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy’s ‘Kaalagnanam’ as fictitious, in his book.
Led by Sangham president K. Umamaheswarachari and general secretary P.V. Subbanachari, they earlier cleansed the saint’s statue at Koti Reddy circle and took out a rally to the Collectorate.
The Sangham leaders pointed out 16 discrepancies in the book and demanded that the doctorate awarded by the Telugu University to the writer be withdrawn.
The Sangham leaders submitted a memorandum to the District Revenue Officer P.H. Hemasagar.
