Ministers give crucial Medak district meeting the slip

Congress legislators Ch. Muthyam Reddy (Dubbak) and P. Kishta Reddy (Narayankhed), at the District Planning Committee meeting held here on Thursday, have expressed displeasure over the functioning of certain officials and demanded that officials visit villages and address the problems of the people. They demanded an inquiry into certain works carried out by the officials.

Participating in the meeting, presided over by Collector A. Dinakarbabu, both the legislators asked why the officials were not responding even though serious water crisis was being faced by many villagers.

“There are certain works like construction of buildings by different departments, laying of roads, anganwadi buildings which were not yet completed. The funds will lapse if we fail to utilise them in time,” they said.

The legislators also demanded an inquiry in the purchase of pumpsets and their installation at certain places.

They also suggested taking up repairs to borewells in view of the fast approaching summer.

Mr. Kishta Reddy said that funds amounting to Rs. 18 crore had been released so far and another Rs. 7 crore would be released shortly.

Mr. Muthyam Reddy said that village development should be taken up with the taxes being collected from industries. He also suggested increasing the capacity of water tanks and filling water turfs so that even cattle can have the water.

Zilla Parishad CEO Ashirwadam, DRDA PD Ravinder, DPO Aruna, ICDS PD Shailaja and others also participated in the meeting.

Though this is a crucial meeting, Ministers from the district and many of the legislators preferred to give a slip.
