VIJAYAWADA: Cameras went click…click…as ravishing models strutted across the swanky showroom flaunting exquisite pieces of diamond and gold jewellery that complemented their striking looks.

The Kirtilals on Wednesday unveiled a large antique collection of nearly 1,200 exclusive pieces of jewellery at its showroom on Bandar Road. Pointing to the good public response on the launch day, the company’s zonal manager V. R. Gunasekhar said the rare antique collection was a unique feature of the industry. The handmade pieces exuded high-quality workmanship. “One needs to devote a lot of time in going into the nitty-gritty of these antique pieces,” he explained, showing a grand ruby and emerald-studded necklace. A dazzling Ashtalaksmi haaram, the traditional mango haaram, a headdress, armlets and the waistband vied for attention, as models Vidya, Prachi and Ahalya walked gracefully across the place.

Pointing out that the Kirtilals was adjudged the ‘best independent jewellery stores’ in India, a retail trading award by the London-based Diamond Trading Corporation, Mr. Gunasekhar said the company had been maintaining a brand identity. The showroom had plans to launch an exclusive collection of diamond antique pieces, first of its kind in the industry.
