A few villagers at Ryalakal in Narayankhed mandal locked up staff of the energy department on Saturday who came to collect bills. The villagers’ complaint was that due to power cut, they were unable to get even water supply making their life miserable.
Finally, police had to intervene and pacify the villagers with a promise to bring the issue to the notice of higher officials.
A few days ago in a village at Peddashankarampet mandal, a similar incident took place. Here also police intervened and pacified the agitating villagers.
“The hand pumps have already dried up. The official are not maintaining timing of power supply. Hence, people in large numbers are forced to wait for hours together at borewells,’’ said Sangareddy, a resident of Manoor near Narayanakhed.
