In days when companies are vying with one another to bring out the best of bundled technology at what they brand as the ‘best price point', a consortium of like-minded people have developed a tablet ‘I-Slate Version 4', as an effective replacement for text-books and work-books. They will be given free of cost to students.
The endeavour of what is known as the ‘I-Slate Consortium' started as a pilot in Mahbubnagar district where 30 I-Slates were delivered to a group of students aged between 10 and 13 at the Mohammed Hussainpalli Village School in the district. Without exception, the young ones are excited about the new acquisition and the teachers are not far behind in their levels of excitement.
“I have found it to be extremely useful and in the past month have reached the conclusion that this should become a must-have for any teacher in any school,” said S. Kavitha, Gazetted Headmaster, Zilla Parishad Government High School, Khilla Ghanpur, Wanaparthy division of Mahabubnagar district. The school received 15 of the 4G tablets.
District Education Officer of Mahbubnagar, S. Vijayakumar said that once streamlined, the project would turn out to be a game-changer.
