The YSR Congress honorary president Y. S. Vijayamma may not attend the all-party meeting convened by the Centre on December 28.
Instead, the party intends to depute its representative to present the party’s view point. Ms. Vijayamma told The Hindu on Wednesday, the party had not yet decided, who would attend the meeting.
She questioned whether the Congress party would spell out its stand at all in the meeting. She also raised doubts about the TDP giving a letter backing Telangana statehood.
Party spokesman Bajireddi Goverdhan said that the YSR Congress would certainly spell out its stand with clarity. “It is the Congress party which has to make public its stand on the statehood issue. The Congress MPs and elected representatives should bring pressure on Centre to announce its stand on the statehood issue,” he said.
