Variety fare on display at tribal artisans' mela

Tribal artisans from Nalgonda, Khammam and Ranga Reddy districts on Thursday put up a display of products made by them at a ‘mela' organised by the Union Tribal Affairs Ministry in coordination with Banjara Seva Samiti, Garla, and Sai Educational Society, Ghatkesar.

The products on show at Dwama office include jewellery, dress material and bags. This is the second such exhibition after one conducted at Bhadrachalam, in Khammam district.

Dwama Project Director Koteswar Rao formally inaugurated the display with a call to tribal women to improve their skills and make better products for marketing by Trifed.

He said the products would be sent to New Delhi for test marketing and if found suitable exported.

Jagadish Naik, Regional Manager, Trifed, said the organisation was running 28 showrooms across the country.
