The agitation by the power sector employees now has the support of another emergency sector, viz., the Medical and Health JAC.

The strike by Vidyut JAC members and others in the sector already has the State reeling under long spells of power outages and now the ‘Vaidya JAC’ expressed solidarity with the movement despite hardships. With an intention of dispelling darkness caused due to the blackout, members of Medical and Nursing JAC took out a candlelight rally in broad daylight and formed a human chain at the Government Maternity Hospital here on Wednesday.

They opined that the present power outages were better than the darkness that would descend on State after bifurcation. “We do not need buses, trains, electricity and other basic necessities. We desire a unified State,” they shouted in unison.

They also said that bearing with the present situation was the least they could do to add momentum to the Samaikyandhra agitation.

Leaders urged to resign

The JAC leaders urged the Seemandhra politicians to resign to their posts and exert pressure on the Centre to revert the decision of dividing the State.

M.Sc. Nursing exams delayed

SVRR Government General Hospital and SV Medical College enjoyed power supply, in view of the emergency services they were required to provide.

M.Sc. Nursing examinations, conducted under the aegis of NTR University of Health Services, were stalled as there was a difficulty in downloading the question paper.

Even the classes at medical colleges went on sluggishly as students and teachers were sombre due to power cut.
