TIRUPATI: A team of academics from the Department of Library Science, Utkal University, Orissa, on Monday visited the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam's Sri Venkateswara Central Library as part of its on-going study tour to update their knowledge over the subject.

The team watched with interest digitisation work under way in the library as part of the TTD's programme to preserve the ancient palm-leaf manuscripts, books on Vedas, the sasthras and sahithyas for the benefit of researchers and for posterity as well.

Interacting with Director of the library Bhuman, team members said that they were impressed with the digitisation work and sought help of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam in replicating the model in Utkal University.
