Thomas Cook organises road show in city
An increasing number of travellers in the 29 to 65 years age bracket prefer going on group tours, although customised tours are equally popular. And not surprisingly, USA and Europe rank high in the Indian holidaymaker's tourism destinations.
Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Far East, and the USA beckoned ebullient holidaymakers at a day-long road show organised by Thomas Cook here Sunday.
In its fourth edition, the show saw prospective customers walking all through the day enquiring about the various tour packages on offer by the travel company.
“We do this every year. We have grown in terms of the number of people,” said a marketing manager of the company. What started off as a 20-city event in 2008 to generate interest among prospective customers has today grown to cover 34 cities across the country.
On Sunday, apart from Hyderabad, similar road shows were held at Chennai and Hubli. “Usually, January, February and March is when people start booking their trips to Europe and other places. That's when we launch our products,” he said adding, “We also want to connect with our customers at the ground level and explain them our products, activities on the tour and also offer them competitive packages in the market.”
While Europe and USA are destinations sought after in April to September, the Far East and Africa draw travellers during October-March; Australia and New Zealand being year-long destinations.
