HYDERABAD: Staff of the US Consulate-General, Hyderabad, will visit Tirupati and Visakhapatnam from September 23 to October 8 to ‘share a slice of American life with the citizens’. They will seek to strengthen relations between the people of Andhra Pradesh and the US based on family, education and work.
The staff will visit universities, organisations and media centres as part of an all-India tour in which the embassy officials from New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai travel across the country. The staff, Public Affairs Officer Juliet Wurr and Consular Officer Greg Rankin and Kalpana Murthy (Vice Consuls) will meet prominent citizens, officials and high school/university students and academicians.
According to a press release issued by the consulate here on Tuesday, the staff will speak on various topics, including American women in politics, US-India relations, education in the US and religious and ethnic diversity in the US. Two documentaries---‘The People’s President : man, myth and the media’ and ‘FLOW: for Love of Water---will be screened in the two cities. The consular officers will address students on issues relating to US visas.
