WARANGAL: Maoists shot dead one B Madhukar (25), upa sarpanch of Uppanapalli in Eturunagaram mandal late on Monday night.

According to Circle Inspector, Madhusudan said five naxals came to the residence of Mr. Madhukar around 11.30 p.m. and asked him to come out and help them hire a tractor. He was taken out and suddenly shot dead. One woman and four male persons entered the house. They fled from the spot immediately and did not leave any letter or raise any slogan. The police suspect that there could be around 20 naxals lurking in bushes outside the house. The police officer said the slain leader was not a informer. He worked for the Maoist party in the past and was arrested in 2003. He was considered as militant by the police.
