Music concert organised by Andhra Music Academy

Classical aficionados in Guntur could not have asked for more as P. Unnikrishnan enthralled the gathering at the `Sarada Sangeethothsavam, a music and dance festival at Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram on Sunday. The festival was being organised by Andhra Music Academy, Visakhapatnam.

The cool breeze wafting across the hall seemed to blend perfectly with the soothing ragas from the mastero.

Style of his own

The singer, who has managed to create a style of his own, began with `Vasantha Ragam' by rendering `Shanmukha….'

He went on to sing various ragas including, ``Avimodigalata,'' ``Charukesa'' and ``Degada,'' adorned by Nagaswaram.

.K.V Krishna played the violin, BVS Prasad played Mridangam, while S. Hanumantha Rao rendered the ghatam.

Commissioner of Income Tax, Guntur, V.J Vinay Kumar was the chief guest. Kallam Haranatha Reddy was the guest of honour.

The music festival began on Friday. President of academy R. Prabhakara Rao presided over the concert. During the festival, many musicians were felicitated. Burra Sitarama Sastry an d A. Kanya Kumari were conferred `Sarada Sangeetha Purakskaram'

On Monday, the concert would be held at Nannapaneni Venkata Ratnam Kalyana Mandapam at Chilakaluripet. Anuradha and party would be rendering vocal in the concert.
