Ministers and leaders get together and take out `bus yatra'
Plan rallies in all constituencies represented by rival TRS and TDP Village-corner meetings highlight achievements of State Government Chief Minister wants party leaders against indulging in groupism
ZAFFARGARDH (WARANGAL DT): In a bid to send a signal that they are all united, ministers Ponnala Lakshmaiah and D. S. Redya Naik and District Congress Committee (DCC) president G. V. Ramana Reddy undertook a `bus yatra' in this mandal held by the TRS MLA.
The Congress, which decided to take out a rally in all the constituencies with the ministers and important leaders, desired to cover those represented by the rival TRS and TDP to begin with.
The ministers toured Zaffargarh and Station Ghanpur mandal where the TDP senior leader Kadiam Srihari still holds sway, and which is being represented by TRS leader K. Vijayarama Rao.
Accompanied by a busload of supporters, the ministers addressed village-corner meetings and those scheduled at the mandal headquarters.
They restricted their speeches to highlighting the achievements of the State Government, its promises and how they were being fulfilled and showering praises on Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and his able leadership.
Later, speaking to reporters, Mr. Lakshmaiah said the party is yet to begin talks with the CPI (M) on seat sharing.
