Union Minister of State for Steel A. Sai Prathap on Sunday inaugurated a railway under-bridge at Nandalur constructed at a cost of Rs.1.61 crore for the benefit of people of Patur and Nagireddipalle villages in the mandal.
Divisional Railway Manager of Guntakal S.K. Singh, Rajampet legislator A. Amarnath Reddy, Rajampet RDO Padmaja, ZPTC member Prameelamma and Sarpanches Association president B. Sivasankara Reddy participated.
Rally flagged off
Speaking after flagging off a national integration rally organised by Nehru Yuvak Kendra and Darus Salaam Minority Education Society at Nandalur, the Minister called upon youth to strive for nation building, respect parents and elders, comprehend and follow Indian culture.
Track doubling and electrification works are progressing with an outlay of Rs. 400 crore and 44-km-long works are pending completion, he said.
Gauge conversion work on Pakala-Dharmavaram route is progressing, Mr. Sai Prathap said.
He promised to consider construction of a revetment wall to prevent inundation of the railway under-bridge.
Mr. Sai Prathap introduced his son-in-law Lokesh and said he plans to set up an industrial unit and generate employment.
Mr. Lokesh, a prospective entrepreneur, is a close associate of Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohana Reddy, he said.
