MAHABUBNAGAR: An unclaimed suitcase in AP Sampark Kranti Express, the Tirupati-bound train from Hazrat Nizamuddin (No.2708), on Monday created panic among passengers for a few hours. They heaved a sigh of relief only when it was found that the suitcase did not carry any explosive substance.

According to the Railway Protection Force, passengers travelling in one of the coaches found a suitcase that nobody claimed from Kazipet junction. Suspecting that it might be carrying explosives, passengers informed the TTI about the unclaimed suitcase.

The TTI informed the Shadnagar railway station authorities about it, who in turn informed their counterparts at Mahabubnagar railway station as the train had already crossed Shadnagar.

The railway police at Mahabubangar along with bomb squad and local police took the suitcase into their possession around noon. When the bomb squad opened it, they found only some clothes and other things. The police said a passenger would have forgotten to take the suitcase.
