The United India Insurance Company Limited, which adopted the ZP High School at Manikbandar village in Makloor mandal, on Wednesday gave away furniture and books worth Rs.50,000 to the school as part of the company’s platinum jubilee celebrations.
The UIICL, headquartered in Chennai, adopted three government schools in a bid to improve infrastructure, one each in Nizamabad district, Tirupati and Hyderabad in the State and 75 schools across the country marking 75 successful years of its establishment.
The company also conducted quiz and cultural competitions for the students and distributed prizes.
The UIICL Deputy General Manager (Andhra-Rayalaseema region), Arun Gupta, on the occasion, said that his company was committed to the development of education and student welfare and therefore came forward to sponsor furniture and books.
Senior Divisional Manager P. Surendar Reddy, Deputy Managers Kishore Mohan and N. Narsaiah, Head Master Pochadri and Rajendra Reddy also spoke.
