HYDERABAD: City Police on Thursday arrested Immanuel Patrick, a Uganda national, who came to city five years ago to pursue higher studies, on charge of smuggling and selling cocaine. Eight packets – each weighing a gram – of cocaine were recovered from his possession, the Commissioner’s Task Force SI R. Rajeswara Rao told reporters here.
After completing his intermediate programme, Patrick joined B.Com. course in a college of Hyderabad but discontinued it. He was living in a rented house at Neredmet. Mr. Rao confessed to police that he came in contact with one George during his trip to Goa a few months ago.
“Patrick says George suggested making money by selling cocaine,” the SI explained. However, the police could not secure any clues about George who used to ring up on Patrick’s mobile phone from public call offices and hand over the cocaine at pre-determined places.
On a tip-off, the Task Force sleuths picked up the Uganda national from a house in Bollaram and seized eight cocaine packets.
