Meeting of stakeholders on Vision 2030 organised
The Vijayawada Guntur Tenali Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority (VGTM UDA) is planning to expand its boundaries.
The UDA has sent a proposal to the State government to extend its jurisdiction up to Machilipatnam and Gannavaram in Krishna district, and up to Chilakaluripeta in Guntur district in view of the fast developments taking place in these districts.
The UDA organised a meeting of stakeholders on Vision 2030 here on Saturday. On the occasion, UDA Vice-Chairman G.S.R.K.R. Vijay Kumar said: “We have sent the proposals to the government. And they are under consideration.”
A lot of activity and development was taking place from Kankipadu to Machalipatnam.
Likewise, Bandar (Machilipatnam)-Gudivada-Hanuman Junction was found to be a growth corridor.
Though development was taking place, it was not in a planned manner.
The UDA was unable to take up any measures as these areas were not under its jurisdiction.
So, the UDA had sent proposals for comprehensive development in Krishna and Guntur districts, he said.
Earlier, representatives of trade, commerce, and industry expressed the view that the UDA had no credibility among people due to its failure in executing the projects envisaged.
The UDA should create infrastructure in industrial areas under its jurisdiction and win the hearts of people. Industrialists were ready to pay market value if the UDA, in turn, paid market value to the farmers, they said.
Nagpur-based Creative Circle representative Nikhil made a presentation on Vision 2030. The UDA entrusted the job of preparing the Vision document to the firm. Chief Planning Officer Venkatesh was present on the occasion.
