GUNTUR: Proper instrumentation and design in biomedical engineering helps doctors to come out with proper diagnosis and treatment and people should take up research in the field to help society, according to V.R. Siddartha College principal V. Vasudeva Rao.

Speaking at the inaugural of a two-day workshop on `recent trends in biomedical instrumentation' organised by the Vignan's Engineering College at Vadlamudi in Guntur on Friday, he said that the field offered a challenging future. Dr. Rao explained the importance of biomedical instrumentation in the field of biomedical engineering.

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) visiting professor of School of Electrical Sciences, M. Mukunda Rao and Manipal Institute of Technology Professor and Head of Biomedical Engineering Gopala Krishna Prabhu were the guests of honour. The workshop was conducted for the faculty of Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) of various Engineering colleges all over the country.
