Two Intermediate students, who set out from their houses after Wednesday midnight following Deepavali celebrations on a bike, got killed after hitting a road-divider at Bahadurpura. Death was instant for Anand Dawane and Satish Biradar, both aged about 16 years, while their friend Mahadev More, 14, a ninth standard student, is battling for life with serious head injuries. The three minors were from Ghode-ki-Khabar of Mangalhat.

“They told their family members that they were going out for dinner and would be back soon,” the Bahadurpura Sub-Inspector, S. Mallesh, said on Thursday. Passersby told the police that they saw the trio riding the bike at high sped around 1.40 a.m. Unable to control the bike at a curve near a graveyard along the Mir Alam tank road, they hit a median before hitting an electric pole in the middle of it. Their bodies were found strewn on either side of the median.

By the time the police rushed there, both the students died. More was first taken to Osmania Hospital and shifted to Care Hospital as his condition deteriorated. Dawane and Biradar were students of New Era Junior College in Narayanaguda.
