Two pilgrims killed in accident

Two pilgrims, including an eight-year-old girl, were killed when their car overturned at Tippayapalem, near Markapur town in Prakasam district on Friday.

The accident occurred when they were returning to their native Jaggaipet in Krishna district after visiting Srisailam and Mahanandi in Kurnool district, the Markapur police said.

While 24-year-old Ch.Srinivasa Rao and his brother's daughter Venkatalakshmi succumbed to the injuries at the Government area hospital here, four other pilgrims travelling by the car escaped with minor injuries, police added.
