GUNTUR: Two persons got electrocuted in the early hours of Thursday by coming in contact with live wires as part of a fencing of a field in Gullapalli village in Nakarekallu mandal of Guntur district.

The two identified as Chilamuru Kotaiah, 18 and Jalla Sreenu, 33, belonging to Guthikonda village, had gone into woods for hunting wild rabbits and accidentally came in contact with the wires in the darkness.

Vigilance raids

The Department of Vigilance personnel on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids on ration shops at Geddavaripalem in Nuzendla mandal and Morrispeta in Tenali town.


The sleuths confiscated 70 quintals of rice and seized both the shops, according to Vigillance Superintendent of Police Vijayakar.
