Two Maoists were killed in an exchange of fire with the police near Ullivalasa village in Koyyuru mandal on Friday evening.
The bodies were yet to be identified.
According to reports reaching here, the exchange of fire between the police and the Maoists resumed on Saturday morning.
An SLR, .303 riffle, pistol, camera flash and a CD were recovered from the place where the bodies were found. Since an SLR was found, one of the dead could be secretary of the area committee of Galikonda as a weapon of such nature is given to area committee secretaries.
The other possibility is that the weapon might have been left behind while the Maoists were escaping from the scene.
