VISAKHAPATNAM: Two youths were killed in an accident on the National Highway near Tagarapuvalasa in the wee hours of Thursday.
Akula Nalla Rajakumar, 22, a B. Pharmacy I year student went to a dhaba at Madhurawada around midnight to have something to eat. As no eatable was available in the dhaba at that time he planned to go to another hotel near Tagarapuvalasa. He met his friend M. Naga Kumar and the duo proceeded on their motorcycle, according to Anandapuram SI S. Tata Rao.
Around 1.30 a.m., they crossed the bridge near Tagarapuvalasa and hit a parked lorry in the dark. Both of them were killed on the spot.
Injured in attack
A collection agent of a bank was allegedly injured by a borrower at Chilakapeta on Thursday.
V. Venkatesh, 25, of Kailaspuram, working for a private bank, went to the house of Muttu Ramu of Chilakapeta to recover a loan. Venkatesh found fault with Ramu for not repaying even the first instalment.
Ramu allegedly pushed Venkatesh to the ground and went into the house and brought a kitchen knife and injured the latter with it on the shoulders and back, it was alleged.
Local people came to the rescue of Venkatesh. He was rushed to the KGH for treatment.
