Two persons were arrested for allegedly killing a 37-year-old widow Devakathe Sumithra here on Wednesday evening.
The police also recovered a motorcycle, some gold ornaments and a mobile handset from the accused Koli Rajasekhar and Magani Sailu. According to Superintendent of Police K.V. Mohan Rao, the murder came to light when the police stopped the accused, who were moving suspiciously, during a vehicle check at Nehrunagar. Rajasekhar, 25, of Mailaram village in Darpally mandal and the deceased Sumithra who were neighbours in Himayathnagar, Hyderabad, developed illicit relationship. Taking advantage of their friendship Rajasekhar took 5.5 tolas of gold jewellery from her and started avoiding her. However, Sumithra approached his wife and took his number and demanded her ornaments. Following this, Rajasekhar hatched a plan and eliminated her with the help of his friend Sailu belonging to Dubbaka of Darpally mandal.
