The Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday arrested two audit officers - J. Srinivas Rao and P. Rama Rao - of the office of the Principal Accountant General here, when they accepted a bribe of Rs. 4,800 from a representative of S.G.P.R. Government Polytechnic at Kurnool for not raising audit objections against the college. They were produced before the judge of the special court for CBI cases at his residence today but the investigating agency was asked to bring them to the court on Friday. A release said the audit officers had taken Rs. 3,000 as bribe from the same person earlier. While Mr. Srinivas Rao is a senior audit officer while Mr. Rama Rao is an auditor.
