Vasavi Club is organising ‘Twins Trait', a programme for the twins of the city , on November 14 from 3 p.m. at the AMCOSA conference hall, near Zilla Parishad.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, club's president Nalluri Nooka Raju said the idea was to bring the twins of the city on a common platform for presenting their skills, special inheritances, including attachments, likeliness and similarities.
The inspiration for organising such an event is the Twins Festival being celebrated every year in Twinsberg, Ohio State, USA, Mr. Nooka Raju said. The event is celebrated as a major kids festival involving the twins. The programme is planned for November 14 to coincide with the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru which is observed in our country as a ‘Children's Day'. Skills related contests would be conducted on the said day for three categories of children. The three categories of children include 4 to 8 years, 9 to 13 years and 14 to 18 years age group.Vasavi Club general secretary Patnala Venkata Reddy said the club was engaged in serving the poor and needy pupils of the municipal school at Allipuram. Every year school uniforms, office tables, television sets, CD players, wet grinders and bed sheets were being distributed to schools and hostel students. Besides, books and scholarships were given to poor students of government schools, the club also celebrates festivals along with streetchildren.
Club programme chairman M. Kameshwara Rao has appealed to the parents of twins to bring their children and participate in the ‘Twins Trait'.
