Officials of the Labour Department, in coordination with the representatives of NGOs such as Divya Disha, M.V. Foundation, RVM and police, conducted raids at different places and rescued 12 child labourers.

The raids were carried out under the supervision of Labour Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu. Officials inspected 73 shops and establishments at Charminar, Hussaini Alam, Pattargatti, Murgichowk and Lad Bazaar, and issued showcase notices for not exhibiting the name boards in Telugu.

The Commissioner warned that stern action would be taken against the shop owners if they employ children.

He also asked the owners to prominently display the name boards in Telugu.
