More investigation needed in the case, says Magistrate

TIRUPATI: Second Additional Magistrate, Tirupati on Wednesday rejected the bail application of Chevireddi Bhaskar Reddy, Chairman of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA), who was arrested and remanded to custody for his alleged involvement in the burning of two APSRTC buses at Tirupati on the bandh eve, last Friday. It may be recalled that the police have filed a non-bailable case against Reddy, who is also an ex-officio member on the TTD Trust Board.

According to sources, the Magistrate dismissed the bail petition on the ground that some more investigation was to be done and some more witnesses were to be examined in the case. Dismissing the bail petition, the Magistrate was also said to have referred the case to the Sessions Court, Chittoor.

Meanwhile in a statement, Bhaskar Reddy alleged that he was being framed in the case by the police with ‘false cases’ and said he would not be deterred by such cases, committed as he is for ‘Samaikhyandhra’.
