Sri Venkateswara Employees Training Academy (SVETA) conducted a course on ‘Yoga Therapy’ for the employees of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Saturday.
SVETA Director K.V. Ramakrishna announced that the practice of yoga would keep them away from physical ailments and lifestyle disorders like blood pressure, diabetes etc., besides keeping the brain active.
The healthy way
The course material included Foundation of Yoga, Basics relevant to Yoga therapy, Human biology, Integral approach to yoga therapy, yoga therapy in practice, Asanas, Pranayama, Mudras and Bandhas, Kriyas, Meditation techniques and Yoga therapy special techniques.
At the ‘World Health Day’ meet, Dr.Ramakrishna explained that the rigorous practice of Hindu Dharma and staying away from vices like smoking, alcoholism and drugs would keep hypertension, cancer and HIV/AIDS at bay.
Aping the western culture could spell doom for the youth, he said and asked the participants to practice nutrition-rich vegetarianism.
