The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) is gearing up for the grand conduct of a range of festivals scheduled during the first two weeks of January, 2014.

While six major events are being listed in the first fortnight of January the management is focussing its attention mainly on the New Year Day (January 1), Vaikunta Ekadasi (January 11) and Vaikunta Dwadasi on the following day during which the influx of pilgrims is expected to be very high.

The Tirumala based TTDs Joint Executive Officer K.S. Srinivasa Raju during his periodical meetings with the heads of various departments cautioned them to be discharge their duties with prudence as conducting of back-to-back events coupled with the burden of organising annual festivals like Bhogi, Makara Sankranthi and Kanuma nevertheless remains a testing time to the management.

Meanwhile, the temple authorities were fraught with the daunting task of working out the actual darshan hours that could be provided to the visiting devout during the first three major festival days to which the pilgrim fraternity attach immense significance.

On the other hand the reception officials were instructed to identify and rectify the short comings in the allotment process if any before the year end.
