Free meals for visiting pilgrims at Tiruchanoor
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Executive Officer L.V. Subramanyam reviewed arrangements being made for ‘Panchami Theertham’, scheduled on Sunday.
The mega religious fete – ‘Panchami Theertham’ marks the grand conclusion of the nine-day annual Karthika Brahmotsavams of Goddess Padmavathi, currently under progress in Tiruchanoor.
At a high-level meeting with the heads of various departments on Saturday, Mr. Subramanyam warned the officials that any laxity on their part with regard to the supply of food and drinking water to the visiting devout will be viewed seriously.
He further urged the officials to be more cautious on the eventful day as the tiny town, given the immense sentiment attached to the festival, will be thronged by devotees who shall be reaching the place from different parts of the country.
Free breakfast and luncheon will be organised on the sprawling premises of Tholappa Gardens, SV High School and Swamy Aiyappa temple.
He urged the devotees to avail the facility.
Further, he directed the officials to allow the devotees into Padma Sarovaram (pushkarini) to take a celestial dip in a phased manner to avoid any kind of eventuality. The devotees will be allowed to enter the tank from 9 a.m. He also urged the authorities of various departments to ensure that the day ends up incident-free and that traffic restrictions are strictly implemented.
Prominent among others who participated in the meeting include Tirupati Urban SP J. Prabhakr Rao, TTDJEO P. Venkatarami Reddy, CVSO G.V.G. Ashok Kumar and other officials.
