HYDERABAD: Union Minister of State for Mines T. Subbarami Reddy on Friday wrote separate letters to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad seeking additional railways lines and other facilities to Andhra Pradesh, particularly Visakhapatnam.

Releasing the letters later, Dr. Reddy, while welcoming the Railway Budget proposals, mentioned the `neglect' meted out to the State with regard to infrastructure and railways, especially Visakhapatnam district. The Minister `requested' Mr. Lalu Prasad to sanction trains linking Visakhapatnam with Rayapur, Secunderabad, New Delhi and Puri, conversion of `Samatha Express' and Bhubaneshwar-Chennai weekly into a daily train.
