HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti broke ranks with the political Joint Action Committee, of which it was the architect, by announcing its decision to make a detailed presentation on the compelling need to form Telangana State.

Party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao defended the decision to go to the panel saying it was “just and fair” to do so because TRS took birth only for the cause of separate Telangana. The party would be failing in its duty if it did not do that. Asked if TRS would not be contradicting itself after having got its MLAs to resign because the terms of the Srikrishna Committee was not acceptable to it, he said the decision on resignations was a collective one of all parties in JAC but the Congress and TDP deceived.
