The TRS members will return to the Assembly on Monday after staying away for more than a month on account of by-elections. They had not attended the House since the presentation of the Budget on February 17.
TRS MLA K.T. Rama Rao told a press conference on Saturtday that he hoped the party to be 19-member strong when the House met the day after declaration of election results on March 21. By this, he meant that the TRS would win all the five seats where it is contesting and would have the backing of Independent candidates Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Somarapu Satyanarayana. Mr. Rao said the TRS would utilise the one week before the close of Budget session of Assembly to raise issues of employees arising out of their participation in the general strike last year. The party would confront the government on victimisation of employees and failure to implement promises made to them after the strike. It would also finalise a stand on the direction of the apex court to six Ministers to face an inquiry by CBI. He asked TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu to own moral responsibility and surrender his twin posts of presidentship and Leader of Opposition to a leader from Telangana if the party failed to win any seat in the by-election.
