HYDERABAD: After the MPs who put in their papers in Lok Sabha on Monday, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti MLAs and MLCs will submit their resignations to the State Legislature on Tuesday. After performing puja at Telangana Talli statue at the party headquarters, 16 TRS MLAs and three MLCs will proceed to the Martyr’s Memorial near the Assembly.
They will then handover their resignations to Speaker K. R. Suresh Reddy immediately after the proceedings commence in the House and later to Council chairman A. Chakrapani. The rebel TRS MLAs have, however, decided against putting their papers as the party leadership had not taken them into confidence before taking such a major step.
According to TRS legislators T. Harish Rao and N. Narasimha Reddy, the party’s elected representatives had decided to seek the people’s mandate again and prove that Telangana sentiment was strong. Party leaders would launch a door to door campaign to expose how the Congress “cheated” the people of the region.
